Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

At thecapper.io (“we”, “us”, “our”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal data you may share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have.

Quick summary: We are a small, independent sports analytics site operated from Ohio. We do not sell personal data. We collect standard site analytics to understand how the site is used. We use no advertising targeting cookies. We store no account information because there are no user accounts. If you contact us, we keep your email to respond to you.

1. Who We Are

thecapper.io is operated by Craig Fountain, based in Ohio, United States. For privacy inquiries, contact us at hello@thecapper.io or visit our Contact page.

2. Information We Collect

A. Automatically Collected Technical Information

When you visit thecapper.io, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) and analytics providers automatically collect certain technical data. This may include:

  • Your IP address (anonymized in analytics)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Geographic region (country/state level — not precise location)
  • Interactions such as clicks and scroll depth

Why we collect this: To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve content, fix technical issues, and prioritize new features. We use this data in aggregate, not to identify individual users.

Legal basis (EU/UK users): Legitimate interests — monitoring site performance and security, and improving the service.

B. Information You Provide Voluntarily

We have no user accounts and no signup forms. The only way we collect information you actively provide is if you contact us by email.

If you email us (at hello@thecapper.io, support@thecapper.io, or cafountain@gmail.com), we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your name (if you include it)
  • The content of your message

Why we collect this: To respond to your inquiry or support request. We do not add you to any mailing list from this interaction unless you explicitly request it.

  • Google Analytics — anonymized site-usage metrics if you have accepted analytics cookies. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Affiliate partners — if you click a link to a sportsbook, that operator may record that you arrived from our site. We do not pass personal identifying information to those partners. Review the sportsbook’s own privacy policy for their data practices.

We do not use any email marketing platforms, ad networks, or data brokers.

Complaints: EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their national supervisory authority.

6. Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

  • Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics defaults (~14 months for user-level data; longer for aggregate reports).
  • Email correspondence — retained as long as reasonably necessary to serve the original purpose, then deleted.
  • Server logs — typically retained for 30–90 days by Cloudflare.

We do not intentionally retain personal data longer than necessary.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages (enforced by Cloudflare)
  • No storage of payment information (we have no paid tier)
  • No user account database

No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the responsibility seriously and operate on a minimal-data-collection principle.

The site contains links to sportsbooks, data providers, and external resources. When you leave thecapper.io, their own privacy policies apply. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

9. Children’s Privacy

thecapper.io is not directed at anyone under 18 years of age, and under no circumstances at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
