Waiting for pipeline data
The WNBA role change monitor analyzes player logs to detect meaningful shifts in minutes and usage. The next pipeline cycle will populate this board once enough baseline data has accumulated.
How this works
The Role Change Monitor evaluates WNBA players who have played at least 3 games in the last 14 days. It compares their most recent game against their established baseline from the preceding games in that 14-day window.
- Baseline: Mean minutes and usage proxy (Points + 0.5×Assists + Rebounds) in the last 14 days, excluding the most recent game.
- Expansions: Triggered when minutes jump by ≥ 1.5 standard deviations (σ), OR jump by ≥ 1.0σ while usage jumps ≥ 30%, OR a player jumps from ≤ 20 baseline minutes to ≥ 30 minutes.
- Reductions: Triggered when minutes fall by ≥ 1.5σ, OR fall by ≥ 1.0σ while usage falls ≥ 30%, OR a player falls from ≥ 22 baseline minutes to ≤ 10 minutes.
- Confidence Rating: High when both minutes and usage shift strongly in the same direction with a robust baseline sample. Low when minutes and usage move in opposite directions (e.g., foul trouble or blowout).
