The New York Mets beat the Miami Marlins 7-5 at loanDepot park, riding three home runs in the first three innings to build a lead they would not relinquish. Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Brett Baty each went deep to stake Sean Manaea to an early cushion. Manaea earned the win with five innings of work. He struck out four and allowed four earned runs on 61 pitches, lifting his ERA to 4.79. Sandy Alcantara took the loss, giving up seven earned runs over 4.1 innings on 99 pitches while recording just one strikeout. His ERA climbed to 3.78. Lindor opened the scoring with a solo shot to center in the first. Jared Young followed with an RBI single later in the frame. Soto broke it open in the second with a three-run blast that plated Francisco Alvarez and Lindor. Baty added a solo homer in the third and a sacrifice fly in the fifth to extend the lead to 7-0. The K model tracked Manaea at four actual strikeouts and Alcantara at one. The NRFI model showed a neutral lean, and the first inning was scoreless until Lindor's homer. Miami clawed back with four runs in the sixth and one in the ninth, but Kodai Senga recorded the save to close it out.
Juan Soto went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, driving in three and scoring twice to lead the Mets offense.
