The Giants beat the Cardinals 2-1 at Oracle Park, holding on after building a two-run cushion through two innings. Bryce Eldridge launched his 16th home run to left center in the first, and Christian Koss followed with his fourth to left in the second. St. Louis scratched back late when Bryan Torres singled home Nathan Church in the ninth, but Joel Kuhnel secured the save. Landen Roupp earned the win. Quinn Mathews took the loss. The opener set up clean, and both sides delivered. The home runs made the difference. Eldridge's blast gave San Francisco the lead before Koss added insurance an inning later. Torres cut the deficit to one, but the Giants held. The NRFI model carried a neutral lean and the first inning went scoreless. The scoring started immediately after.
