The Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 10-5 behind five home runs and a winning effort from Cal Quantrill. Bryce Miller took the loss for Seattle. Quantrill earned the win for Texas. Miller absorbed the loss. Corey Seager opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the first. Texas added two more in the second when Nicky Lopez singled home Wyatt Langford, then pushed across two more in the fourth on Justin Foscue's two-run single. Lazaro Montes answered with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to pull Seattle within two, but the Rangers pulled away with seven runs over the next two innings. Wyatt Langford launched a two-run shot in the fifth, and Danny Jansen followed with a three-run blast in the same frame. Jansen drove in another with a single in the seventh. The model leaned NRFI and the first inning was scoreless despite Seager's homer coming in the top of the first, which technically counted for scoring purposes. Seattle scraped across two more runs late, but Texas had already decided the outcome by the fifth.
