Chase Meidroth homered twice for Chicago, a solo shot to center in the first and another to left center in the third. Both gave the White Sox early leads they could not protect. St. Louis answered each time. Alec Burleson doubled home Iván Herrera in the first, then added an RBI single in the fifth. Joshua Báez drove in two and scored twice, including the first of three straight run-scoring hits in the decisive fifth.
