Houston Astros at Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Houston Astros 3-1 at Tropicana Field, winning on Junior Caminero's two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth. Bryan Baker earned the win; Bryan Abreu took the loss. Drew Rasmussen carried Tampa Bay through seven innings, allowing one earned run and striking out four on 92 pitches. His ERA now sits at 2.81. Rasmussen worked efficiently, scattering hits and keeping Houston off the board after the fourth. The game stayed tight until the ninth. Victor Mesa Jr. opened the scoring in the fifth with a solo shot to right center, his thirteenth of the year. Houston answered in the fourth when Yainer Diaz grounded into a force out that plated Isaac Paredes. Caminero ended it with his fortieth home run, a two-run blast to left center that scored Jonny DeLuca and handed Tampa Bay the walk-off. The K model anticipated more from both starters. Rasmussen matched his projection with four punchouts, but Ullola finished with zero strikeouts against expectations.
