Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning and held on to beat the Cleveland Guardians 4-3 at Target Field. Connor Prielipp earned the win with 5.1 innings of work, allowing three earned runs on 77 pitches while striking out one. His ERA sits at 5.24. Franco Aleman took the loss. A.J. Minter recorded the save. Emmanuel Rodriguez opened the scoring with a solo home run to center field in the third. That was just the start. Kody Clemens followed with an RBI single, Luke Keaschall scored, and Brooks Lee moved to second. Royce Lewis singled to plate Lee, and Victor Caratini was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing home Clemens. Four runs crossed before Cleveland could record the third out. Cleveland chipped away with single runs in the second and fifth. Travis Bazzana drove in Jo Adell with a ground-ball single in the second, though Angel Martínez was thrown out at third on the play. In the fifth, Brayan Rocchio's groundout brought home David Fry, and Steven Kwan singled to score Austin Hedges. That cut the deficit to one, but the Guardians never drew level.
