Los Angeles Angels at Washington Nationals

Washington beat Los Angeles 6-5 in 10 innings at Nationals Park when shortstop Zach Neto committed a fielding error on a Harry Ford grounder, allowing CJ Abrams to score the deciding run. The Angels had tied the game with three eighth-inning runs capped by Vaughn Grissom's two-run homer. José Alvarez delivered seven shutout innings for the Nationals, striking out eight and throwing 97 pitches. His counterpart Ureña lasted six frames, fanning seven and surrendering four earned across 101 pitches. ERA now stands at 2.88 for Ureña, 3.35 for Alvarez. Washington built a 4-0 lead behind Abimelec Ortiz, who went 2-for-2 with a double and drove in two runs in the second. CJ Abrams opened the scoring in the first with an RBI double to center. Grissom's 11th homer of the season erased the Angels' deficit, but Los Angeles couldn't hold the tie past the 10th. The K model had both starters reaching their actuals seven for Ureña, eight for Alvarez. The NRFI carried a strong lean and cashed when the first inning ended scoreless despite Abrams' double coming in the bottom half.
