Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins

Miami beat Los Angeles 4-3 at loanDepot park, handing Tyler Glasnow his 11th loss despite back-to-back Dodgers homers in the first. Cade Gibson earned the win in relief and Pete Fairbanks notched the save. Glasnow lasted four innings, striking out seven on 91 pitches while allowing four earned runs. His ERA now stands at 3.50. He matched the strikeout model projection of seven. Evan Phillips worked in relief and fanned three. Mookie Betts and Max Muncy each homered in the top of the first to stake the Dodgers to a 2-0 lead. Betts pulled a fly ball to left center, his 20th of the season. Muncy followed with a solo shot to center, his 28th. But Miami answered with three in the bottom of the second. Graham Pauley crushed a two-run homer to right center after Owen Caissie reached, his fourth of the year. Otto Lopez later singled home Heriberto Hernández to complete the frame. The Marlins added an insurance run in the fifth when Javier Sanoja reached on a fielder's choice and Griffin Conine scored on a throwing error by shortstop Betts. Los Angeles scraped one back in the ninth when Hunter Feduccia grounded a single to left, scoring Josue De Paula, but could not push across the tying run. The NRFI model carried a neutral lean and the first inning finished scoreless despite the two Dodgers homers. Glasnow's seven strikeouts matched the model output exactly.
