New York Mets at New York Yankees

The Yankees shut out the Mets 2-0 at Yankee Stadium, riding solo home runs from Ben Rice and Austin Wells. Rice opened the scoring in the bottom of the first and Wells added insurance in the third. Cam Schlittler got the win, and David Bednar recorded the save. Schlittler delivered six shutout innings, fanning eight and throwing 94 pitches. His ERA now sits at 1.95. Christian Scott took the loss for the Mets despite a solid line: six frames, seven strikeouts, two earned runs on 82 pitches. His ERA moved to 3.76. Rice crushed his 38th homer of the year on a fly ball to right in the first. Wells followed two innings later with his 11th, a fly to right center. Bo Bichette managed a single in four at-bats for the Mets, who mustered little else against the Yankees' staff. The NRFI model had a lean toward no run in the first, and it cashed. The K model projections aligned with actuals: Scott punched out seven, Schlittler eight.
